Historic preservation

Experts gather to restore and stabilize headstones, vault and obelisk in 200-year-old Jackson Street Cemetery

In December, the Chicora Foundation, a South Carolina nonprofit preservation organization, and a preservation mason and his crew helped with specialized tasks as part of a five-year stabilization and preservation plan for the 1,000-grave cemetery.
