Mileage reimbursement rate
The State Accounting Office has provided updated mileage reimbursement rates for travel in state-owned or personal vehicles. The following reimbursement rates became effective April 1: When it is determined that a personal motor vehicle is the most advantageous form of travel, the employee will be reimbursed for business miles travel at $0.505 per mile.
If a personal motor vehicle is not determined to be the most advantageous form of travel, but it is used, the employee will be reimbursed for business miles traveled at $0.285 per mile.

Rodeo tickets
Tickets are now on sale for the Great Southland Stampede Rodeo, which will be held April 17–19 at
8 p.m. at the Animal and Dairy Sciences Instructional Arena on South Milledge Avenue. It is presented by the UGA Block and Bridle Club and Dodge Rodeo.
The April 18 show, “Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night,” is a fundraiser. One dollar will be donated to breast cancer research for every person wearing a pink shirt. Tickets are available at the UGA Block and Bridle Office in Room 128 in the E. Rhodes Animal and Dairy Science Building, or by calling (706) 542-9374.
Tournament ticket refund policy
Fans who purchased tickets through the UGA Ticket Office for the 2008 Southeastern Conference men’s basketball tournament are eligible for a refund for games that were moved away from the Georgia Dome because of the March 14 tornado. Refund requests must be postmarked by April 18.

Service-Learning Fellowships
The Service-Learning Fellows Program will be accepting applications until April 18 for up to seven fellowships that come with a $2,500 award.
The opportunity is for a year-long faculty development program for selected faculty members to investigate, develop, implement and integrate service-learning into their teaching, research and public service work while becoming recognized campus leaders in service-learning pedagogy and community engagement.
The Service-Learning Fellows Program is supported by the Office of Service-Learning and is open to all permanent, full-time UGA faculty members including academic tenure track, academic professionals, public service faculty and clinical faculty members with an interest in service-learning. Previous experience in service-learning pedagogy or familiarity with service-learning or civic engagement research is not required.

Cooperative Agreement class
A class entitled “Initiating Bi-Lateral Cooperative Agreements with Foreign Institutions” will be taught by Jane Gatewood, associate director of the Office of International Education, May 21 from 9 a.m. until noon.
This class seeks to demystify the process of developing and initiating international cooperative agreements at UGA by providing a rubric for the institutional process. This course will outline the institutional procedures for formalizing such agreements and will provide tips for negotiating and developing successful, mutually beneficial partnerships with institutions overseas.
Faculty members interested in developing and /or renewing international agreements and the staff members who assist faculty in the process are invited to attend.
