Computer fair
The spring 2008 Computer Health and Security Fair is April 22 from
10 a.m.–4 p.m. in the second floor lobby of the Student Learning Center.
Telecommunications, electronics and computer services representatives and EITS consultants will be on site
to provide a security checkup for student, faculty and staff laptop
computers.
The security checkup includes virus scans and software updates, spyware removal and more. Requests will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis.
Security professionals also will be available to provide information about the dangers of phishing attacks and how to protect against identity theft attempts.

LIR announce meeting
The Learning in Retirement group will hold its annual meeting April 24 at the Holiday Inn Express at 513 West Broad St.
The two-hour meeting, which will begin at 10 a.m., includes electing new officers, reviewing the past year and establishing next year’s priorities. There also will be time for discussion and refreshments.

Plant sale
The State Botanical Garden of Georgia will host its annual spring plant sale April 26 from 8 a.m.–2 p.m. at its Visitor Center and Conservatory.
The sale will feature drought-tolerant plants such as rudbeckias, coneflowers and salvias.
A complete catalog, including informative plant descriptions, will be available online at www.uga.edu/botgarden by April 24. Although selections focus on drought-tolerant woody and herbaceous plants, heirloom vegetables, annuals and tropicals also will be available as well as a select group of native and endangered species grown at the garden.

Fitness Center applications
The Fitness Center is accepting new applications for participation in its adult fitness and cardiac rehabilitation programs.
Each week three one-hour cardiac rehabilitation exercise sessions will be offered at 9:30 a.m., 2:45 p.m. and
4 p.m. and three one-hour adult fitness exercise sessions also will be offered at 6:45 a.m., noon and 5:15 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in Room 101E of the Ramsey Student Center.
Both programs run yearlong. The adult fitness program costs $40 per month and the cardiac rehabilitation program costs $45 per month. There is an additional initial entrance and fitness evaluation fee of $95. A physician’s referral is required prior to initial testing and stress test evaluation.

Call for pet photos
The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking pet photos for its summer photo exhibition. Photos of any type of animal— large, small or exotic—will be accepted. Winning photographs, along with the owner’s personal story about the pet, will be on permanent display in the veterinary medicine college. All winners will receive a framed certificate displaying their pet’s photo.
Entry and photo release forms are available at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital registration desk or the Community Practice Clinic. Entry forms also may be downloaded at www.vet.uga.edu/GO/Pet_photo_contest_entry.pdf and the release form at www.vet.uga.edu/GO/Pet_photo_contest_release.pdf. Both forms must be completed for each entry.
