President discusses budget: University implements cost-saving measures
The university will undergo budget tightening during the 2009 fiscal year, but student instruction and employee jobs are not on the chopping block, President Michael F. Adams told a packed house Sept. 5 at the first of two scheduled budget forums.

Diversity Days highlights connections

UGA farm helps to grow Savannah Room’s menu
UGA does more than just teach students how to grow organic food. It serves it up, too.

Each Friday, fruits and vegetables grown at the university’s organic teaching farm in Athens are plated up and spotlighted at the Savannah Room, a restaurant at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center and Hotel. The sustainable food is grown using methods that are environmentally friendly, community-centered and profitable for farms.
