			From the ground up HVAC renovations begin University Communications to handle open records requests
			Staff Council holds first meeting of the year
			Matthew Winston Staff Council held its first meeting on Aug. 5, under new president Stephanie Watson, who works in the Office of Housing Administration. Watson outlined her goals for the upcoming year, which included continuing regularly scheduled meetings with university president Michael Adams, fostering relationships with members of University Council and obtaining office facilities and staffing for Staff Council business. Victor Wilson, assistant to the president, who attended the meeting, reported on the status of the university master plan, to be presented to the board of regents in February following review by the university community. This fall there will be information sessions and focus groups of faculty, staff, and students to gather input. In other business, three representatives were elected to the executive committee. They are Henry Bridges, business and finance; Ruby Heaton, outreach and services; and Teresa Shirley, legal affairs.
