Worth Repeating

Kathryn Costello, when she was introduced as UGA’s new senior vice president for external affairs: “Thomas Wolfe was wrong. You can go home again if you have a welcoming crowd and someone like Mike [Adams] to make you feel special. . . . This is such a wonderful opportunity, a journey that started a long time ago when I left Georgia. . . . It’s exciting to come to a place that’s doing so much but is so well positioned to imagine what it can become.

Gov. Zell Miller, on his introduction as UGA’s new Distinguished Professor of Higher Education and the first holder of the Philip H. Alston Jr. Chair
“I have never entered a political campaign with any fear, and I’ve never entered a session of the General Assembly without being absolutely sure of myself . . . but I worry, ‘Do I really have knowledge worth dispensing? Can I really reach these students of the nineties and touch their lives?’ I pray that I still can.”
