Levon Ambartsumian will perform during 2009-2010 2nd Thursday series
|
The Hugh Hodgson School of Music has announced its 2009-2010 2nd Thursday Scholarship Series, which begins in September and runs through April. The monthly concerts feature the school’s top ensembles, faculty and guest artists. Designed to raise scholarship money for musicians in the School of Music, the series sells subscriptions for $80.
This year, to offer more flexibility in choosing specific concerts in the series, a Pizzicato Pass will be offered. This pass allows patrons to “pluck” out eight seats for the season, to be used in any combination. Individual tickets are also available for $15 or $7 for students with a valid UGA ID.
All concerts are held at 8 p.m. in the Hugh Hodgson Concert Hall of the Performing Arts Center. New subscriptions and the Pizzicato Pass are available Aug. 3 by calling the box office at (706) 542-4400. Single tickets will go on sale Aug. 31.
Additional donations to the scholarship fund can be made at the box office. For donations of $500 and more, patrons become members of the Director’s Circle and receive special invitations to rehearsals throughout the year, as well as a dinner preceding the UGA Symphony Orchestra’s Concerto Concert in February.
