Traffic Injury Prevention Institute receives state grant
The University of Georgia Traffic Injury Prevention Institute has been awarded an $836,470 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to continue its education and training programs in passenger safety education, young and senior driver education and community programming.

Georgia ranks as the third worst state in the nation for overweight or obese children. To begin to deal with this issue, representatives from universities, government agencies and healthcare, public health, philanthropic and community organizations in the state will convene in Atlanta this month to share findings and identify ways they can act together to tackle the problem.
Law school presents one-man show about attorney Clarence Darrow
The School of Law will host live theatrical performances by award-winning actor Gary Anderson titled “Clarence Darrow’s Search for Justice” on Nov. 18 in the Chapel. As part of a national tour, there will be showings at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are free, but pre-online registration is required by Nov. 15 at www.law.uga.edu/clarence-darrow-performance.
