Tom S. Landrum, assistant to the president in the administration of former university president Charles B. Knapp, has been promoted to the position of executive assistant to the president. The announcement was made by President Michael F. Adams during a Sept. 3 press conference.
In his new position, Landrum will serve as Adams's chief assistant and as director of the President's Office staff.
"Tom and I have worked together closely and carefully over the past three months," Adams said. "I have come to respect and appreciate his loyalty to this institution and his knowledge of its inner workings, and I am pleased to have him in this key role on our administrative team."
Landrum holds two degrees from the university, a bachelor's in history in 1972 and a master's in journalism in 1987. He previously was executive assistant to the vice president for development and university relations (198792), director of public relations (198587), assistant to the director of public relations (197985), and public information specialist in charge of publications (197679).
