Award nominations
In 1986 the university initiated an awards program that recognizes outstanding graduate teaching assistants. In 1989 an Excellence in Teaching Award for Teaching Assistants was added and in 1990 award eligibility was expanded to any graduate assistant who demonstrates superior teaching in the classroom or laboratory.
Recipients of the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards are recognized at Honors Day and receive a certificate and letter of appreciation from the senior vice president for academic affairs and provost.
The Excellence in Teaching Award is given to up to five recipients. It carries a monetary award of $1,000 from the Graduate School and is presented to recipients at the Faculty Recognition Banquet in April.
Nomination materials are due Jan. 8. Contact the Office of Instructional Support and Development at 542-1355 for more information.
