Integrating East and West
Several ambassadors and other officials from Eastern Europe and a top U.S. State Department official shared their cautious optimism about the future of the region Feb. 3-5 in the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.
“Europe’s East Enters the 21st Century,” the fifth annual international symposium sponsored by UGA’s Center for Humanities and Arts, included several presentations and panel discussions along with appropriate musical entertainment.

88th annual Sibley Lecture examines Internet governance
Harvard law professor Lawrence Lessig will analyze means to govern the Internet in the School of Law’s 88th Sibley Lecture, to be held in the law school auditorium Feb. 16 at 3:30 p.m. The lecture, open free to the public, will be followed by a reception in the auditorium foyer.




Husband and wife piano duo will perform at Ramsey Hall
At 8 p.m. Feb. 20 in Ramsey Hall, Robert Chumbley and Shirley Irek will perform Ravel’s Sites Auriculaire and Ma Mère l’Oye; Poulenc’s Sonato for One Piano, Four Hands; and Messiaen’s Visions de l’Amen.
