Administration Changes

Karen A. Webb has joined the graduate school as director for recruitment and retention. One aspect of her responsibilities will be the recruitment and retention of minority students.
She also will be involved in the management of two summer research programs directed by the graduate school. One is the undergraduate program that brings together minority students and faculty from historically black colleges in Georgia as well as those from the university. The second program brings high school students and teachers to campus for an eight-week internship.
Webb holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Florida International University and a master’s degree in computer science education from Nova Southeastern University. Previously, she was coordinator for the Ronald McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program at the University of Florida.
Her professional experience also includes coordination of recruitment and retention at UF’s graduate school as well as several years coordinating college preparatory programs for high school students and graduate prep programs for undergraduate students in South Florida.
