Million-dollar game plan for saving

Getting Rich in America reveals eight rules anyone can follow to save a million dollars--without sacrificing quality of life.
The book is based on years of research studying self-made millionaires by economists Dwight R. Lee, a professor in UGA’s Terry College of Business, and Richard B. McKenzie, a professor at the University of California, Irvine.
Getting Rich in America introduces readers to people, who, while earning an average income, have amassed at least a million dollars in savings through basic hard work, discipline, patience and perseverance--without having to live like misers.
The authors identify the eight rules to follow to build a fortune and a meaningful life: think of America as the land of choices; take the power of compound interest seriously; resist temptation; get a good education; get--and stay--married; take care of yourself; take prudent risks; and strive for balance.
Getting Rich in America also is filled with exercises and calculations that reveal how the “little things” add up over time to big savings, or to no savings at all; sound advice for creating a fulfilling life; and tips for saving and making money work harder--so you don’t have to.
