When UGA President Michael F. Adams and six other men who’d never met each other got together recently, there was no need for introductions.
They already knew each other’s name: Michael Adams.
What are the odds that among 13,500 male students and 4,380 male employees at UGA, seven would have the same name?
Impossible to calculate, says a UGA statistics professor. But the chances are probably fairly remote.
In addition to President Adams, there are:
• Michael A. Adams, a painter in the physical plant;
• Michael W. Adams, a biochemistry professor;
• Michael Zachery (Zac) Adams, a 22-year-old junior majoring in landscape design, from Rockmart;
• Michael Courtney Adams, 21, a senior majoring in finance, from Pelham;
• Michael Richard Adams, a 21-year-old senior majoring in environmental health science, from Duluth; and
• Michael Allen Adams, a 19-year-old freshman landscape architecture major from Peachtree City.
