Computer services specialist elected president of staff governance group
By Larry B. Dendy

Sarah Fraker, a computer services specialist in University Computing and Network Services, has been elected president of Staff Council for 1999-2000.
Other officers elected at the council’s June meeting are: vice president, Robyn Ansley, senior administrative secretary in the School of Marine Programs; secretary, Brenda Keen, administrative secretary in the Vinson Institute of Government; and treasurer, Joyce Moss, senior administrative secretary in the School of Law library.
Fraker, who has worked at UGA for five years, is a past chair of the Staff Representative Group for academic affairs and past co-chair of the UCNS staff council.
She says she wants to help Staff Council be a more effective channel for communication among all staff members and a stronger voice for staff with the university administration. Her goals for the year include completing a revision of the council’s by-laws and holding regular meetings with senior administrators to discuss issues of importance to staff.
Staff Council will not meet in July. At the August meeting, three new members will be elected to the council’s Executive Committee.
