Youth learn-to-swim program
Fall swimming classes for children are now beginning. Classes meet on Saturday (11 a.m., noon, and 1 p.m.) and Sunday (1:15 and 2 p.m.) through Nov. 14.
Instruction follows the American Red Cross format and is available for children ages six months and older. Parent-toddler and pre-school classes are 30 minutes; others are 45 minutes. Registration is held at the cashier’s window in the Ramsey Student Center 9 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays. For more information, call 542-5060.

Family swim
The pool in the Ramsey Student Center is open for family swimming on Sunday afternoons this fall from 4 to 8 p.m. Lanes will be available and some toys provided for families to enjoy the water. For more information, call 542-5060.

Hazardous-materials training
UGA’s hazardous-materials officer Greg Bell is now offering hazardous-materials training for the members of a lab or department in departmental facilities. For information or to make arrangements, call 369-5706.
