ART EXHIBITIONS/EVENTS
Currently on display at the
Georgia Museum of Art are:
Big, an invitational exhibit of monumental works of art by four contemporary Georgia artists--Radcliffe Bailey, Maria Cochran, Tod Murphy, and Rocio Rodriguez. The exhibition closes Sunday (9/7). 542-4662.
Gold, Jade Forests: Costa Rica, the largest traveling exhibition of pre-Columbian art from Costa Rica to tour the United States in 15 years. 542-4662.
Capturing the Georgia Coast, works from the Sea Grant Collection of Contemporary Coastal Art, displayed in the Martha Thompson Dinos Gallery. 542-4662.
Faculty Exhibition '97, works in a variety of media by faculty members at UGA's Lamar Dodd School of Art. 542-4662.
Visitors to the State Botanical Garden can see an exhibition of Landscapes by Lynwood Hall.
BOTANICAL GARDEN
The State Botanical Garden offers a "Mushroom Trek," one of the free Garden Rambles, on Sunday (9/7) at 2 p.m. Participants will meet at the covered shelter adjacent to the lower parking lot. 542-6156.
SPORTS
The soccer team takes on Florida Atlantic on Sunday (9/7) at 2 p.m. at the UGA Sports Complex. 542-1231.
The Bulldogs play their second football game of the season against South Carolina on Saturday (9/13) at 3:30 p.m. in Sanford Stadium. The game will be televised on CBS-TV. 542-1231.
