UNIVERSITY CORE AREAS and the Criminal Justice Major

Before being admitted to the Criminal Justice Studies Program, students must complete the following four courses - with a 'C' or higher, and the average of the four courses (weighted equally) must be at least 2.5.

1) STAT 2000 - Should be counted in Area D or as a lower division elective
 

2) POLS1101
3) PSYC 1101
4) SOCI 1101

The above 3 introductory social science courses should be counted in Area E or as lower division electives.

To fulfill the Arts and Sciences language requirement, Criminal Justice majors must complete a single foreign language through the 3rd course.  Two of the three language courses may be counted in Area F.- see Part 3 below.

Any student admitted to the Criminal Justice Studies Program during the Fall 2006 term or later must follow the Area F requirements listed below::

Students who first matriculated in college - ANYWHERE - before Fall 1996 will be required to follow the Core curriculum previously used for the Quarter System.  Please check with the CJSP office for a copy of the Quarter System Core check sheet.
