Earl Ginter

Director and Professor

Dr. Ginter’s Ph.D. is in counseling, and he is licensed as a Professional Counselor and a Marriage and Family Therapist.  Dr. Ginter has worked with UGA students since 1985, helping them achieve their full potential as learners.  He has authored or co-authored over 80 publications and has made over 80 presentations at state, regional, national, and international conferences.  His recent research has focused on the study of four generic life-skills that affect students’ level of performance before, during, and after their college experience.  One of his books, Life-Skills for College:  A Curriculum for Life, co-authored with Dr. Ann Glauser, is used at several universities, including the University of Georgia.
