Experience
"Dawg Camp was one of the best programs I have participated in at UGA.  It has allowed me to meet tons of great people and has given me a strong sense of growth as a leader and as a person."

~ Alex Heller,
UGA Senior
Climber What is Dawg Camp Adventure?
Join your new friends outside the classroom, even outside of Athens!  Dawg Camp Adventure is a separate wilderness component of Dawg Camp, which will take place in July 2009.  This program is a joint venture with the Georgia Outdoor Recreation Program and will serve approximately 48 incoming students. There will be three trips this summer, each taking about 16 students ready to take on the outdoors.

When is Adventure?
The dates for Adventure are June 24-29, July 8-13 and July 15-20, 2009.

You may select the program that you want to participate in (Paws or Paddle), which will include the UGA Ropes Course, backpacking, whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, and rock climbing.

Adventure is an incredibly fun option for you if you want to meet new people and learn more about the life and challenges on the UGA Campus, all of which are conducted in a challenging, outdoor environment.  Dawg Camp Adventure has overnight outdoor camping and other wilderness experiences each day in the summer weather.

Who will be at Adventure?
Dawg Camp Adventure will be led by the Georgia Outdoor Recreation Program's staff members as well as two student leaders from the University of Georgia's Center for Leadership & Service.  These facilitators will teach you (and seven others) everything you need to know in order to have a safe and exciting week, along with how to jump right in once you get to UGA.
