Membership Scholarship Program -
Since its inception the Society has committed 25% of its organizational revenue toward member scholarships, which are awarded annually at both the national and local level. A variety of scholarships are given, recognizing academic achievement, campus leadership, extra-curricular activities, and community service. All new members are automatically considered for the awards, based on their acceptance form submissions. Those affiliated with active chapters enjoy the formal presentation of these awards at annual New Member Receptions.
On campus, on-line, and in print, Delta Epsilon Iota informs its members of career issues, opportunities, and resources directed to leading scholars. Members may include their resumes in local membership resource guides, which are made available to key corporate, government, and organization recruiters through campus career center personnel. Active chapter members work closely with career center advisors in the development of chapter seminars and programs. The Society's internet web site (www.DeltaEpsilonIota.org) features organizational information and helpful links for students, faculty, and other site visitors. The Resume newsletter contains member news, chapter highlights, and articles by members, advisors, and corporate contributors.
Although active interest in local chapters is not a requirement for national membership, students may gain valuable experience by taking leadership roles and networking through chapter activities. There are no additional fees for establishing or joining a chapter. Leadership opportunities include being a chapter officer, chairing a committee, designing student-led seminars, or organizing service projects. Students gain executive skills and build confidence while helping educate each other beyond the classroom.
