Scholarship

Delta Gammas love to have fun, but we also study hard. Academic excellence is key to our success as a chapter and as individuals, and it is the reason we are all at UGA in the first place. We understand that our first priority should be to get a quality college education.

Keeping this in mind, we try to ensure that each member lives up to her academic potential. Women are encouraged to study in the chapter room, Founders room and study room of our chapter home where the lighting is bright and quiet hours are respected. File cabinets store past course notes and old texts to aide Delta Gammas as they prepare for upcoming papers and exams.
Sisters are made aware of scholarships that are available through the University as well as the scholarships that each sorority's national organization offers to its members. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships are given annually by national headquarters to sisters that demonstrate academic achievement and leadership skills. Five of our sisters received national Delta gamma scholarships and fellowships this past year.

Scholarship Dinners

Each semester, Delta Gamma is proud to host a Scholarship Dinner to honor women who have demonstrated academic achievement. The women with the top GPAs are recognized with gift certificates and other various academic awards. The first time women make a 4.0 semester average they receive the Lamp of Knowledge pin from our national organization.

Teacher Appreciation Dinners

We also provide Delta Gammas the opportunity to invite one or two professors to dine at our chapter home. Women get to know their professors and professors get to learn more about Delta Gamma and bear witness to our academic success.
