Minutes of the DLS: March 23rd, 2006

Hello kids.  Last week was the inter society debate.  I could go on and on through the play by play but then again there's also a video and I don't want to give away too many spoilers for those who missed it.  Of course, unless you've been living in a cave, or perhaps a dormitory, or maybe even an apartment, you've probably already heard that we lost.  Word on the street is that we were basically smoking them like Salmon when the judges apparently woke up and told us we lost.

Among the criticisms rendered by the judges included a statement that the Simpsons is not worth referencing for an intro.  Sadly this was stated by someone who teaches an entire class on Lord of the Rings.  But hey, obviously a book that spawns hundreds of fans congregating in the woods every month hitting each other with foam weapons reliving the events is more culturally viable than anything Fox shows.  After all, they do show American Idol.

That said, it is far from the strangest criticism we have faced as a society.  For instance in the early 90s when our president was both Black and Gay, a judge basically called us racists, or so the story goes.  Personally, I still hate those damn Yankee crackers.  Regardless, after the meeting someone left us a cryptic note, but all our crack team of Panda archaeologists could make out were the words “fornicate” and “pier one imports”  There might have also been something about glass houses.  We can't really tell.

Respectfully Submitted,
Martinson X
