About GAB
The Georgia Association of Broadcasters is DGK's buddy. GAB and Grady host the Job Fair every year, and GAB has an annual convention at UGA. DGK has traditionally sponsored the banquet, which is part of the convention. We sponsor it by giving the awards, making the programs, and some of the officers introduce the guests and give opening/closing speeches.Any student can go to any of the sessions at the convention for free, but students have to pay to go the banquet. However, if you have paid your dues, DGK will pay for you ticket to go the banquet. At the banquet students will have the opportunity to mingle with dozens of broadcasters from TV and radio stations all over the state. A delectable three-course dinner will be served, and DGK usually hosts a “Meet and Greet” with the recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award. Last year’s winner was Pat Mitchell, former president and CEO of PBS.
