This year's Dawgs Ditch the Dumpster and Donate hopes to divert more than 38,000 pounds of material from local landfills during the year-end campus move-out. Held through May 9, the event encourages housing residents to recycle unwanted clothing, books and household items instead of throwing them away.

Garden to host Full Moon Hike
The State Botanical Garden of Georgia will have its monthly Full Moon Hike May 3 at 8 p.m. starting at the Visitor Center Fountain. Each walk will focus on a different topic such as the moon, constellations or nocturnal creatures. Participants should be prepared to hike up to 2 miles on wooded trails and in the garden. The cost is $5 or $15 per family.
Baseball team to play series against Florida
The Diamond Dogs will play a series against the University of Florida this weekend at Foley Field. The games will be May 1 at 7 p.m., May 2 at noon and May 3 at 1 p.m.
Robach to speak at graduation
"Good Morning America" anchor Amy Robach will give undergraduates one final charge on May 8 before UGA sends its newest alumni off with a fireworks farewell. The spring Commencement ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. in Sanford Stadium. The graduate ceremony, which will feature University Professor Emeritus Gary Bertsch, who is now chairman of the international advisory group TradeSecure LLC, will be held at 10 a.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. Tickets are not required for either ceremony.
