In front of a crowd already bursting with Grady pride, Gov. Nathan Deal declared Sunday “University of Georgia Grady College Day in the State of Georgia.” Deal, who addressed a sold-out crowd at the Grady Centennial Gala April 18, invited UGA President Jere W. Morehead and Grady College Dean Charles N. Davis to the stage as he handed over the proclamation.

Ecologist to deliver Odum Lecture
Ecologist Nancy Grimm will deliver the 30th annual Odum Lecture at the Odum School of Ecology on April 21 at 4 p.m. in the ecology auditorium. Grimm is a professor of ecology in the School of Life Sciences and senior sustainability scientist in the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University. This lecture is part of UGA Earth Week.
Softball team to host Georgia State
The softball team will play Georgia State University April 22 at 6 p.m. in Jack Turner Stadium.
Quartet to perform in Chapel, Hodgson Hall
The Performing Arts Center will present the Jupiter String Quartet with guests clarinetist Jon Manasse and pianist Jon Nakamatsu April 20 at 8 p.m. in Hodgson Concert Hall. The Jupiter Quartet will also perform a free concert at noon that day at the UGA Chapel. The quartet regularly performs across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia and South America. Tickets for the concert are $35 and are discounted for UGA students.
