Life Space Crisis Intervention Training

Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI) is a verbal method of supporting students in crisis while assisting them to gain insight into their own behaviors. LSCI is used as a major strategy with students in Stages Three and Four and frequently with students in Stage Five.

Adults find LSCI helpful and effective in:

  • Conveying understanding
  • Building relationships
  • Resolving crises
  • Fostering responsible behavior

Problem-solving strategies target:

  • Conflicts imported from home or street
  • Distorted thinking and skill deficits
  • Destructive peer relationships and bullying
  • Anti-social values and lack of conscience
  • Serious conflicts with authority
  • Problems of anger or alienation
