Nghia Tran

Nghia Tran immigrated to the United States in 1994.   He began gardening once he moved into his current residence in Riverdale, Georgia in 1999.  This is the first garden Nghia has maintained because he previously lived in Saigon where there was no land to cultivate.  He was also in the army and so did not have the time to garden.  There also does not seem to have been as much desire to garden in Vietnam because everything could easily be acquired very fresh everyday in outdoor markets.  Nghia and his wife grow every type of fruit or vegetable they would like to eat and only purchase produce from the store during the cold winter months when they are unable to grow anything in their garden.
