UGA’s veterinary hospital offers take-home glucose monitors for diabetic pets
The University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital now has continuous glucose monitoring devices available for cats and dogs, like Murphy Hansen, above, with diabetes. The devices are used to gather data on the patient's response to insulin.

Red Cross schedules campus blood drives
The UGA Red Cross Club is sponsoring campus blood drives June 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in front of Memorial Hall; June 19 from noon to 5 p.m. in the Poultry Science Building break room and from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Reed Hall lobby; and June 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room 230 of Pharmacy South.
Rec Sports offering summer intramurals
Recreational Sports is offering summer four-person team intramural flag football and soccer. Each sport has a six-game season starting June 24 and a tournament. The cost is $40 per team, and the registration deadline is June 18 at 5 p.m. Teams must register at the Ramsey Center cashier’s window.
GMOA Tour at Two to focus on face jugs
Dale Couch, curator of decorative arts, will lead a tour of the Georgia Museum of Art exhibition "Face Jugs: Art and Ritual in 19th-Century South Carolina" June 18 at 2 p.m. This exhibition draws from the collections of face vessels from the Edgefield District of South Carolina. The face jug form originated in the pottery created by enslaved African-Americans during the second half of the 19th century.
