Leading scholars at UGA will present eight public lectures on the latest scientific findings on everything from how we are altering the planet's chemistry to what these changes will mean for people around the world. The series begins today at 7 p.m. in the UGA Chapel with "Extinction in a Changing World" by cell biology professor Mark A. Farmer.

Recreational Sports begins intramurals registration
The UGA Recreational Sports program has begun registration for a variety of intramural sports, from soccer to golf to Frisbee. Entry fees and registration deadlines vary for each team sport. Photographer to deliver Visiting Artist/Scholar Lecture
Photographer and artist Zoe Strauss will deliver a lecture Sept. 2 at 5:30 p.m. in Room S151 at the Lamar Dodd School of Art as part of the 2014-2015 Visiting Artist/Scholar Series. Strauss is holding the Lamar Dodd Professorial Chair during the current school year. Strauss has been recognized for her many accomplishments, including a Pew Fellowship, the George Gund Foundation Fellowship and a Leeway Foundation Seedling Award, among others.
