More than 2,000 students participated in the 16th annual UGA Relay for Life. Student fundraising teams raised a total of $203,396.31 toward this year's campaign. This year's relay featured a one-hour challenge with the University of South Carolina with the results so close that the schools agreed to call it a draw.

Cultural Celebration focuses on Africa
A Cultural Awareness Celebration will be held April 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Tate Center Grand Hall. This event will be a time of celebration, laughter and a gentle reminder of the beauty, spirit and uniqueness that Africa brings to the world. There will be free African cuisine prepared by students and faculty, skits, music and dance.
Softball team to host Georgia State
The softball team will play Georgia State University April 22 at 6 p.m. in Jack Turner Stadium.
Quartet to perform in Chapel, Hodgson Hall
The Performing Arts Center will present the Jupiter String Quartet with guests clarinetist Jon Manasse and pianist Jon Nakamatsu April 20 at 8 p.m. in Hodgson Concert Hall. The Jupiter Quartet will also perform a free concert at noon that day at the UGA Chapel. The quartet regularly performs across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia and South America. Tickets for the concert are $35 and are discounted for UGA students.
