Archway, CED exhibit to feature student work


The Archway Partnership and the College of Environment and Design will hold a reception for the opening of an exhibit that will feature projects from across Georgia that highlight the partnership between Archway and CED Aug. 28 from 4:30-6 p.m. in Barrel Hall of the Jackson Street Building. Parking is available in the North Campus parking deck.

Recreational Sports begins intramurals registration


The UGA Recreational Sports program has begun registration for a variety of intramural sports, from soccer to golf to Frisbee. Entry fees and registration deadlines vary for each team sport. For more information, see the Rec Sports intramurals website (


Author to discuss ‘Farmageddon'
Author and activist Philip Lymbery will speak about his book "Farmageddon: The True Cost of Cheap Meat" Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. in Room 171 of the Miller Learning Center. Lymbery is chief executive of Compassion in World Farming and a prominent commentator on the effects of industrial farming. He will discuss how factory farming harms human health, the environment and the well-being of animals.
