UGA asks you to help us in our "Let's Clear the Air" campaign. Starting today, the University System of Georgia is prohibiting tobacco products on all of its system campuses. From Athens and Atlanta to Savannah and Valdosta, each university or college is working to clear the air and keep their institutions tobacco- and smoke-free.

Renowned faculty tubist to perform
Internationally recognized tubist David Zerkel will perform a recital of original compositions and transcriptions for solo tuba Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. in Ramsey Concert Hall. The performance is part of the Hugh Hodgson Faculty Series. Tickets are $10, or $5 with a UGA student ID.
Football team to host Vanderbilt
UGA will celebrate it homecoming as the Bulldogs host Vanderbilt University Oct. 4 at Sanford Stadium.
Freedom Sings to kick off Grady celebration
Freedom Sings, a program of the First Amendment Center featuring an all-star cast of musicians playing music that has been banned or censored or has sounded a call for social change, will perform Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. at The Classic Center in downtown Athens. The concert kicks off a year of centennial celebrations for the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Complimentary tickets are available through The Classic Center box office at 706-357-4444.
