Leading scholars at UGA will present eight public lectures on the latest scientific findings on everything from how we are altering the planet's chemistry to what these changes will mean for people around the world. The series begins today at 7 p.m. in the UGA Chapel with "Extinction in a Changing World" by cell biology professor Mark A. Farmer.

Health center hosting Healthy Dawg Kickoff
The University Health Center will have its Healthy Dawg Kickoff Aug. 29 from 2-4 p.m. The event will include music, snacks and free “Do It Sober” T-shirts to the first 200 students. Hairy Dawg and the UGA Spirit Squad will be in attendance.
Recreational Sports begins intramurals registration
The UGA Recreational Sports program has begun registration for a variety of intramural sports, from soccer to golf to Frisbee. Entry fees and registration deadlines vary for each team sport. New exhibit is retrospective on Dooley
A new exhibit, "Vince Dooley: A Retrospective, 1954-1988," opens Aug. 29 at the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries. The exhibit takes a look at former UGA athletic director and head football coach Vince Dooley's career and includes photos, playbooks, original artwork by Bulldog favorite Jack Davis and commemorative items. The collection is from the archives of the UGA Athletic Association, housed at University Archives, a part of the special collections libraries.
