Sokngim Kim is on the path to becoming the first woman engineer in her home country of Cambodia who was educated in the U.S. She plans to return to Cambodia to improve its infrastructure and boost its economy.

Rec Sports to hold fall festival

Recreational Sports will hold its Scream on the Green fall festival Oct. 21 from 6-10 p.m. on the front lawn of the Ramsey Student Center. A large-screen viewing of “Hocus Pocus” will begin at 7 p.m.

Soccer team to host Kentucky

The soccer team will play the University of Kentucky Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. at the Turner Soccer Complex.

Violinist Paul Huang to give concert
The Performing Arts Center will kick off the 2014-2015 Ramsey Concert Hall Series with award-winning violinist Paul Huang Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. in Ramsey Concert Hall. His program will include works by Mozart, Edvard Grieg, Arvo Pärt and César Franck. Born in Taiwan, Huang entered the Juilliard Pre-College at age 14. He is the winner of the 2011 Young Concert Artists International Auditions. Tickets for the recital are $28 and are free to UGA students with valid UGACards.
