Film to focus on Muslim lesbians


The film “Al Nisa: Black Muslim Women in Atlanta’s Gay Mecca” will be shown April 24 at 6 p.m. in Room 250 of the Miller Learning Center. The film is the story of how filmmaker Red Summer brought five women together who sought to establish a community, where there was none, for black Muslim lesbians in Atlanta.

Baseball team travels to Vanderbilt


The Diamond Dogs will hit the road for a three-game series against Vanderbilt April 25 at 7:30 p.m., April 26 at 3 p.m. and April 27 at 2 p.m. Follow the live action on


Recycling Happy Hour to collect electronics
Residents can bring electronics, including televisions, batteries, light bulbs and used cooking oil to the 2014 Recycling Happy Hour April 24 from 5-7 p.m. in parking lot E01 at the Intramural Fields. This is a drop-off event in which residents do not leave their cars as volunteers unload items for them. The event is a partnership with Athens-Clarke County's Recycling Division, UGA Office of Sustainability and WUGA.
