The Red & Black

J. Michael Floyd, the director of the University's Food Service Administration, was recently recognized by Food Management magazine for exceptional leadership in his field.
The magazine awarded Floyd with the Food Management Leadership Award for his standard-setting work at the University, where he oversees 530 employees and 14 food service outlets.
Enticing student appetites with a wide variety of meals and the occasional theme night, Floyd and his staff have witnessed a 350 percent increase in seven-day meal plan enrollment over the past 10 years.
As much as students love to complain about dining hall food, we have to admit that the University's food is pretty darn good. With all-you-can-eat helpings and a selection ranging from sandwiches to Mexican to ice cream, who needs to order out?
We'll just add another notch to our list of Georgia programs putting other schools to shame.
