A: Upon receipt of your confirmation number, and provided that a dining commons is open and is serving meals for the meal plan you have acquired, you may immediately go dine, even though may not have paid for your meal plan.

Q. When will meal plan charges post to my account?

A: If you acquire your meal plan "on-line" before 5 PM, Monday-Friday, the charge should post to your student account the next business day. If you acquire your meal plan after 5 PM Friday and before 5 PM Monday, the charge will not post to your student account until Tuesday.

Q. How/where do I pay for my meal plan?

A: To keep your student account in good standing, ensure that you pay for your meal plan in accordance with Bursar payment instructions provided vie email to your UGA email. If you pay via OASIS using a credit card (MC, Discover, AMEX), the total cost plus a 3% fee will be additionally charged. In lieu of playing by credit card, you may mail a check to the Bursar for your meal plan. Make your check payable to The University of Georgia and mail it to:

Q. If I did not have a meal plan Fall Semester but get one for Spring
Semester, what is my financial and time commitment?

A: You are responsible for only one-half of the total academic year meal plan price—one semester's cost only. Your meal plan agreement will expire on the last day of meal plan service Spring Semester. Your academic year meal plan will not carry over to the subsequent Summer Session or to the next Fall Semester.

Q. Does the price of the meal plan stay the same all semester?

A: The purchase cost of a meal plan is prorated after three full weeks of meal plan service have elapsed. On the 22nd day of meal plan service and after UGA cancellations have been processed, the purchase cost for a meal plan will be the full cost of the meal plan less one day's cost at the daily meal plan rate for the plan you have selected.

Q. If I have a Five Day Plan, can I upgrade to Seven Day?

A: Yes, but at present, an upgrade is not available "on-line." If you want to begin dining and it is a Saturday or Sunday, simply visit either The Summit or Oglethorpe Dining Commons and ask to complete a Meal Plan Upgrade Form. Charges reflecting the cost difference between the 5 Day and 7 Day plans on that day, but not to exceed $101.00, will post to your student account the subsequent Tuesday. If you do not require immediate weekend access, you can: visit any of the dining commons and complete and turn-in an Upgrade Form, visit the Administrative Office in the lower level of Snelling Dining Commons, or send an email message, Subject: Meal Plan Upgrade, providing your name and My UGA ID# to: bowdoin@uga.edu or mealplans@foodser.uga.edu
