Doing Double Duty

A picture of the Bone-i-fied Good Item sticker Foods containing less than 30% calories from fat are found throughout the menu. These heart-healthy items are marked with a red heart symbol in the menu guidebook and on the menu tags at each serving line.

A few examples of heart-healthy items served daily in each dining commons include:

Eating Smart Line at Bolton Dining Commons consisting of baked chicken, baked fish, and unseasoned vegetables

Sushi and stir fry at the Oriental Trading Market at Oglethorpe Dining Commons

Vegetarian lines at each dining commons

Bean of the day and brown rice at each facility

Extensive salad bars, fresh fruit and vegetables, low fat and fat free dressings, soups, yogurt

Microwaves to steam fresh vegetables from the salad bar

18 varieties of cold cereal, 12 of which are whole grain

Skim and soy milks

Freshly-made smoothies at the Village Summit

Potato bar with various toppings

Pasta bar with whole wheat pasta and marinara sauce

Bagels and fat-free cream cheese

A deli with Healthy Choice® meats and reduced fat cheese

12 fruit juices, most of which are 100% juice

Fat-free mayonnaise
