WHAT IS THE GEORGIA INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE?

The Georgia International Leadership Conference is designed for international students and U.S. study abroad students currently enrolled at Georgia colleges and universities. The conference aims to leverage these students' international experiences to promote leadership, cross-cultural communication, and build social networks.  Students will participate in cultural simulation games, be exposed to principles of leadership, and have a better understanding of their leadership style.

How does my institution become involved?

To involve your institution in this conference simply read the Advisor Letter below.  Use the GILC brochure to advertise to your students and have them submit the Student Application to you.  There is a ratio of the number of students a given institution may bring depending on your total enrollment numbers.  Some advisors make this a very selective process to choose which students to send, while others accept students on a first-come first-serve basis.  How you select your students is up to you.

How do I volunteer to be part of this wonderful initiative?

GILC is a success because of the time, energy, and dedication of volunteers from the Study Abroad and International Student Advising community in Georgia. We need your help to make the conference a success.  Please consider helping with the planning and/or implementation of the conference.  It is a great way to meet other professionals in the international education field and also a rewarding opportunity to see your students outside of the academic environment.  If you would like to help with a specific area, please contact the committee chair listed below for the current upcoming conference for more information on how you may participate.
