| What is the GAIE Mentor
Program?
In GAIE we work hard to help new members adjust
to their positions, learn
where to find help and make contacts that can
assist them when help is needed.
Our mentor program will match you up with a fellow
professional in your area
that has been in the field at least one year.
Your mentor will meet you at the
start of the next GAIE conference, attend sessions
with you and sit with you
during the business meeting. During this
time you will meet other professionals
in your field and ask all those questions you
have been dying to ask someone!
How do I become involved?
You can be involved in the mentor program in several
ways:
Sign up for a mentor: If you are new to your field
and/or to GAIE ask for a
mentor. Your mentor will help you get adjusted
to your new position and
assist you in making other contacts in your field.
Sign up to be a mentor: Give back to GAIE by mentoring
a new person in
the field. Help someone get started in our field
by assisting them with small
problems as they get started in the field.
Sign up to be a resource person: If you can’t
fully commit to aid a person
one on one by being a mentor, but are willing
to help out with a few
questions or queries let us know. Sometimes even
mentors get stuck and
may need a little help! This is great way to
help out in a big way with only
a small commitment.
