As a resource for graduate teaching assistants at the University of Georgia, we are compiling sample syllabi for English 1102M and English 2400 courses. We would very much be interested in including syllabi for multicultural courses in other disciplines; if you are interested in such, please contact Tiffany Boyd Adams.
To augment the syllabi, we are also putting together a collection ideas, sample projects and activities, that one might implement in the classroom. Most importantly, this collection will offer a selection of lesson plans that deal with specific texts and specific themes that might be relevant in the multicultural classroom. Finally, we are currently working on creating a resource for instructors who are deciding on texts for their classrooms. Currently English 1102M does not have a standard anthology. Freshman Composition does have a commitee searching for a text, and hopefully this will be in place by spring 2005. In the mean time, we will collect reviews of texts, both anthologies and monographs, that have been used in UGA classrooms. As these collections grow, we hope to create a true resource that will help those teaching multicultural courses at UGA. |
