GAMS Minutes for Monday, 6 November, 2003
 
The second organizational meeting for G.A.M.S. was called to
order by Ms. Tiffany Adams at 4:45pm. The following members
were present:
 Ms. Marlene Allen
 Ms. Tiffany Boyd-Adams
 Ms. Becky Childs
 Ms. Keely Byars-Nichols
 Ms. Ondra Thomas-Krouse
 Ms. Anastasia Wright
 
The following business items were discussed:
Conference:
President Adams briefed the group on the interactions with
Suzi Wong. Much discussion about the conference ensued, as
to whether or not we should keep the date we had previously
set. Most of the worries about keeping the date revolve
around money. This decision was tabled pending our meeting on
*****WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 12:00 AM in PH 261*****
with the British Women's Writers Consortium. Following the
meeting, GAMS will reconvene at 2:30 to decide on the fate of
the conference, in the room where Dr. McCaskill's Wed. class
normally meets.
 
Ms. Wright announced that Judith Ortiz Cofer was considering
our request to speak at the conference, but that she had yet
to hear from Jace Weaver.
 
Pedagogy:
Keep a look out for a meeting date to be set for the new
textbook search committee.
 
Next Meeting:
Monday, 19 November, 2003/2:30pm/Park Hall Ground Floor -
McCaskill's classroom.
 
The meeting was adjourned at 5:10 pm.
