Planning a Visit to the Georgia Museum of Art? Have You Considered...
Scheduling a Docent?
The Georgia Museum of Art's docent corps is a specially trained group of volunteers who lead tours of the museum's permanent collection and temporary exhibition galleries. Docent tours add a new dimension to the works in the galleries by offering background information and offering new ways of looking at art. To learn more about docent-led tours please email Carissa DiCindio or call (706) 542-4662.
Scheduling a Group Tour?
Each docent tour is tailored to your group's particular needs and interests. Special accommodations can also be made for the hearing-impaired. To learn more about group tours please email Carissa DiCindio or call (706) 542-4662.
Suggestions for Your Visit
Please park in our bus turnaround. Groups arriving by bus may park in the bus turnaround, marked by a blue curb, adjacent to the Georgia Museum of Art.
Please arrive on time, or call if there are any changes. The docents are volunteering their time and have made arrangements to be here at the museum to give you a tour. Please help make the most of your visit by arriving promptly.
Stay with the group. We ask that all chaperones and teachers stay with the group and assist the docent with group management and behavior.
Mind your museum manners. Please do not touch the works of art. If your group would like to stop by our Museum Shop, please limit the number of persons to five at one time.
Relax and enjoy! Visiting the museum is an enjoyable experience. Ask questions, make observations, involve yourself in the tour. The museum's collection and exhibitions are so diverse, there is sure to be something for everyone.
