Patricia Miller
Head Registrar

Patricia P. Miller, head registrar at the Georgia Museum of Art, University of Georgia, received her M.A. in art history from the University of South Carolina in 1996. She has worked in the registrars department at the Georgia Museum of Art since 1998, progressing from assistant registrar to associate registrar to head registrar.

As head registrar she manages the museum's permanent collection of more than 9,000 objects and more than 2,000 loaned objects, and oversees logistics for its active exhibition program.

She is a member of the American Association of Museums, Southeastern Museums Conference and the Southeastern Registrars Association, and served as chair of the nominations committee for SERA in 2006.

Prior to working at the museum, Miller served as director of the Stanly County Historic Preservation Commission and Museum in Albemarle, North Carolina. She received much of her museum training through volunteer internships with the Reeves Center at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia (where she also received her B.A. in English with a minor in Art History); the Columbia Museum of Art in Columbia, South Carolina; and the Maier Museum of Art in Lynchburg, Virginia.
