Historic Landscape and Garden Grant Program


Barrington Hall Boxwood Gardens were restored, in part, with a 2006 Historic Landscape and Garden Grant. This has been an ongoing, two year project by Roswell Garden Club members.
The goals of the program are to:

  • Promote awareness of Georgia's historic landscapes and gardens
  • Encourage preservation of threatened historic landscapes and gardens
  • Provide seed money to assist organizations and communities in developing sound landscape preservation projects which provide public benefit

Eligibility

Historic gardens owned by public, nonprofit organizations may be eligible for 50/50 matching grants with a maximum of $3,000 per grant. Eligible activities must relate directly to the physical improvement of the historic landscape or garden. Eligible activities for funding include:

  • Restoration of designed landscapes and gardens
  • Historic landscape/garden restoration plans
  • Cultural landscape reports
