Garden Week

GCG actively supports NGC's sponsorship of National Garden Week, the first full week in June of each year.

Garden Clubs are encouraged to promote various garden related activities in their communities and share the joy of gardening with others. Make plans to plant flowers or trees, visit nursing homes, put flowers in public buildings, or host a tea. Clubs should publicize their projects to make them more visible. This is a good opportunity to educate the public about the wonderful work done by the Garden Club of Georgia. It is important that clubs send a report to the State Chairman which is then submitted to the national organization for award consideration. As much supportive material as possible should be included:

  1. Send a brief resume of what your club has done.
  2. Take photographs of the event send copies with individuals named.
  3. Supportive materials such as newspaper clippings should be dated and show the name of the publication, date, identification of those in the picture and the name of the event.
  4. Any other material such as programs, flyers, etc., should also be included.

Please send this information to the state chairman by September 15th for submission to the National Awards Committee for judging.
