Awards Program
The Garden Club of Georgia operates an active awards program for its membership. The purpose of the awards program is to recognize the achievement of an individual, a club or group of clubs which further the goals and objectives of the Garden Club of Georgia, Inc., the Deep South Region, and National Garden Clubs, Inc. Blue Star Memorial and Historic Markers
The Blue Star Memorial Program honors service men and women who have served, are serving or will be serving in the armed services of the United States. The Georgia Historical Marker Program educates citizens and visitors about the people, places, and events that have shaped Georgia's past and present. Read more >

Community Wildlife Project
The Community Wildlife Project is a joint effort of GCG and the Department of Natural Resources Non-game Division. The purpose is to better manage non-game wildlife and plant habitats in rural, urban, and suburban communities. Read more >

Deep South Regional Project
The Deep South Regional Project for 2007-2009 is "Dollars for Scholars," a program to encourage innovative fundraising methods in raising money for scholarships. See this page for more details and to download the awards application form.

FLOW
"Forging Leadership in Our Watersheds," our program for community-based watershed protection and educational services, responds to the current freshwater crisis, through district sponsorship of a freshwater body in Georgia. Read more >

Garden Therapy
The Garden Therapy Program, which began in the early 1950s, provides funds for gardening activities for clients at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, and Regional Psychiatric Hospitals in Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Rome, Thomasville, and Savannah. It promotes the therapeutic aspects of gardening. Read more >

Garden Week
GCG actively supports NGC's sponsorship of National Garden Week, the first full week in June of each year, through events that promote garden related activities in communities and that share the joy of gardening with others. Read more >

Habitat for Humanity
Our work with Habitat for Humanity includes beautification of newly-constructed homes through plantings, providing gardening tools and supplies, and educating new homeowners on the care and maintenance of their new landscaping. Read more >

Historic Preservation
GCG historic preservation efforts include the annual Historic House and Garden Pilgrimage, working to inventory and document Georgia historic landscapes in Georgia, and our Preservation Partner donation category. Read more >

Historic House and Garden Pilgrimage
The Garden Club of Georgia teams with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Historic Preservation Division on this annual fundraising event, supporting the restoration and preservation of Georgia's public, non-profit historic landscapes and gardens. Read more >

Legislative Advocacy and Issues
Alongside our efforts toward self-education on conservation issues, the Garden Club of Georgia supports a Legislative Team which works with elected officials, and produces Position Papers which provide background information and reference points. Read more >

Mountains to the Sea
This youth project began as a six-day traveling youth environmental camp in partnership with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, then evolved into the "Mountains to the Sea" web site, an online teaching tool. Read more >
