About GEAC

WHO WE ARE

GEAC, Inc. (Georgia Education Advancement Council) is a statewide organization for those at public and private colleges and universities who work in educational advancement including the areas of alumni, development, public relations/public affairs, and communications.

GEAC’s Near Demise
In 1977, five years after it started, GEAC almost folded. Unable to resolve GEAC’s relationship with CASE, the board considered disbanding the organization. But a survey of members showed strong support for continuing GEAC with conferences targeted at meeting needs of colleges and universities in Georgia. Talk of abolishing the organization was dropped and GEAC has grown and thrived.
