This semester has been a great one for our
philanthropic endeavors. Our fraternity sponsored philanthropy events
this semester have included the Delta Tau Delta and Kappa Delta
Sorority "Movie on the Lawn," an effort that raised over $5000 for
Dance Marathon UGA, that benefits Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and
a sorority wide canned food drive to benefit the Athens Soup Kitchen in
conjunction with our Delt Deserted Island event. Our brotherhood has
also been involved in other philanthropic events, including Delta Gamma
Basketball Tournament, Delta Delta Delta Pancake Dinner, Kappa Kappa
Gamma Crawfish Boil, Zeta Tau Alpha Diamond Challenge, UGA HEROs
Kickball Tournament, Gamma Phi Beta Movie on the Lawn, Alpha Omicron Pi
Run for the Roses 5k, and the Red Cross Platelet Challenge. These
events supported causes including but not limited to Dance Marathon,
American Cancer Foundation, Relay for Life, and the Red Cross, among
others. Within these events we won first place in the Delta Gamma
basketball tournament, first in the HERO kickball tournament, and
second in the Zeta softball tournament and the Red Cross Platelet
Challenge. We have also continued our partnership with Chase Street
Elementary School, assisting in several events this semester.
In all, this has been a very successful year for our philanthropic
efforts and we look forward to continuing our philanthropic excellence.
