Athenians honored at 2005 Atlanta Pride

Athenians Annette Hatton (L), Nancy MacNair, and Gail Cowie were Honorary Grand Marshals in the Atlanta Pride Parade Sunday, June 26, 2005, in recognition of all their hard work in turning out the vote against the anti-gay marriage amendment in the November election. Athens-Clarke County had the highest vote in the state against the amendment, due in large part to their work and the work of Northeast Georgians Against Discrimination. Congratulations to Annette, Nancy, and Gail, and all the other Athenians who worked so hard to turn out the vote locally. (Photo by Beth Richardson)
